About

Location: University of California, Davis. The conference will be centered around the Tercero Area, near the campus core. Sessions will be held in nearby general lecture facilities and computing labs.

General Schedule: The conference will extend over Wednesday and Thursday, June 15-16, 2011. Instructional computing labs and lectures are scheduled for both days. A general welcome session will be held Wednesday morning. Financial sponsors may host a lecture Wednesday morning prior to lunch. All sponsors (financial and instructional) will have an opportunity to informally meet conference attendees to showcase their technology offerings during the Thursday lunch. Continental breakfasts, as well as lunch and afternoon snacks will be provided on both days.

Attendees: Even with the current challenged business environment, the use of technology and security remains a high priority across the University of California system. We are expecting approximately 250 system administrators and unit managers from UC Davis and the other nine University of California campuses to register and attend this conference. The system administrators represent the technical leads for many decentralized information technology units across the entire university system and are typically responsible for making technology and training decisions. Many are leading edge technology adopters. Administrative unit managers are typically responsible for budgetary approval.

Concurrent Session Tracks: The conference tracks will emphasize sessions for information sharing about technology developments that are innovative and/or that benefit operational workloads. Sessions will include technical presentations and hands-on labs focusing on administration fundamentals and/or improving and maintaining the security for Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS X, and Unix operating systems. The duration of instructional labs will range from two to three hours and the duration of lectures will be about one hour.

Fees: The conference registration fee will be no more than $95, which will include the welcome presentation, two days filled with lecture and computing lab sessions, continental breakfasts, hosted lunches, and snacks on both days. Each attendee will also receive a conference shirt with conference and sponsor corporate logos.
